Join a leading petroleum company as an Executive in LPG Operations, where you will play a critical role in overseeing the efficient and safe functioning of LPG plant operations. This role requires a strong focus on managing sales and business development, ensuring smooth logistics coordination, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You are responsible for managing the entire supply chain process, including inventory management, distributor and dealer relations, tendering processes, marketing strategies, and pricing policies. The position demands effective collaboration with multiple departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, Finance, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply and exceptional customer service. As an Executive LPG Operations professional, you will drive achievement of commercial targets while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory guidelines set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and internal company standards. You will handle diverse responsibilities including demand forecasting, safety management, material sourcing, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- LPG Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of LPG storage and bottling plants, including receipt, storage, transfer, bottling, cylinder handling and dispatch.
- Plant Performance: Monitor plant operations, equipment performance, maintenance, shutdowns, operational efficiency and downtime, and coordinate corrective actions with Engineering & Maintenance.
- Sales & Business Development: Develop commercial and industrial LPG sales, identify new markets/customers, prepare sales plans, conduct market surveys and monitor commercial performance.
- Tendering & Bids: Lead LPG tendering activities, prepare commercial proposals, analyze market/competitor information and coordinate negotiations and bid compliance.
- Marketing & Pricing: Develop marketing plans, conduct competitor analysis, manage promotional activities and recommend pricing strategies in line with company guidelines and OGRA requirements.
- Distributor/Dealer Management: Develop and manage the LPG distribution network, evaluate prospective dealers/distributors, handle agreements, grievances, performance monitoring and plant/product allocation.
- Sourcing & Logistics: Ensure uninterrupted LPG supplies by coordinating with suppliers, Sourcing and Logistics for procurement, transportation and timely product delivery.
- Inventory & Materials: Manage cylinders, valves, spares, consumables and procurement requirements, including quotations, technical evaluations and inventory control.
- HSE & Compliance: Ensure adherence to HSE standards, SOPs, OGRA/regulatory requirements, environmental policies and company procedures.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain plant records, daily sales/stock reports, operational logs, equipment records, PTWs and other regulatory/management documentation.
- Manpower Management: Plan workforce requirements, supervise operational staff, allocate responsibilities, maintain staff records and support training and performance management.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Logistics, Retail/LPG teams, dealers, distributors and business clients.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering OR DAE / B-Tech) (Chemical). Additional MBA/Master’s degree will be an advantage.
- Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience in LPG, Oil & Gas, Petroleum, Energy or related industry, with hands-on exposure to LPG operations and commercial activities. In case of DAE / B-Tech (Chemical) Degree Min 10 Years of experience will be required.
- Technical Knowledge: LPG storage, bottling, distribution, plant operations, HSE, maintenance coordination, inventory and logistics.
- Commercial Expertise: Experience in commercial/industrial sales, business development, tendering, bidding, pricing, market analysis and distributor/dealer management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of OGRA regulations, HSE standards, statutory requirements and company policies.
- Management Skills: Strong leadership, workforce planning, negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, ERP and relevant operational/reporting systems.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel to LPG plants, customer locations, dealers/distributors and other business sites as required.
