The Senior Officer, Civil is responsible for managing all phases of civil works, coordinating closely with contractors to monitor project progress and resolve issues promptly. It requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic project environment. The Senior Officer contributes to optimizing operational efficiency by applying robust construction planning and leveraging technical skills to advance project deliverables on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Site Survey, demarcation & construction supervision of retail outlets.
- Timely submission of contractor’s/vendor’s bill verification. This includes verification of quantity/quality of work.
- Using computer-aided design (CAD) packages for designing retail outlets according to the Company’s standards.
- Developing retail outlet layouts/designs; assessing the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertaking risk management in specialist roles.
- Communicate with team members as well as customers and vendors to ensure maximum cohesion and flexibility on projects
- Managing, supervising, and visiting contractors on site and advising on civil engineering issues. Ensuring inspection of critical activities such as Plot demarcation, Levelling/ Surveying, Soil Testing & Concreting.
- Communicating and liaising effectively with the Regional Retail Team & Head office team, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants and co-workers.
- Ensure that sites must meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements.
- Scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery.
- Ensuring Compliance of Explosive Bylaws during Designing & Construction of Retail Outlets.
- Analyze photographs, drawings, and maps to inform the direction of projects as well as the overall budget constraints.
- Calculating Quantities of Earthwork, Bricks & RCC for Establishing Market rates.
