Description
The Senior Cloud Network Architect at OmarNova does not currently manage a team but plays a key role in leading complex technical investigations and establishing architecture standards. The position involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring engineering staff to ensure best practices in cloud networking and network security management. Candidates should possess advanced networking certifications such as CCIE and have experience with hybrid cloud strategies including VPN, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, MPLS, and SD-WAN solutions. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred. The architect is expected to drive innovation in network design, optimize network performance, manage network security including firewalls and segmentation, and support zero trust and secure access service edge (SASE) architectures critical for the organization's secure cloud transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud and hybrid network infrastructures across Azure, AWS, and GCP platforms.
- Develop architecture frameworks and standards that ensure the robustness, availability, and performance of enterprise cloud network solutions.
- Lead technical investigations and troubleshooting efforts to resolve complex network issues, optimize network performance, and enhance reliability.
- Design and implement advanced routing and switching solutions including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and high-availability protocols.
- Plan and execute cloud migration strategies to seamlessly integrate on-premises networks with cloud environments using VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, MPLS, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Architect and manage virtual networks, including VNets, VPCs, subnets, gateways, and load balancers, ensuring secure and efficient traffic flow.
- Implement network security policies utilizing firewalls such as Palo Alto and Cisco devices, network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and SASE frameworks to protect organizational assets.
- Utilize Cisco ACI policy models, Palo Alto Panorama Network Security Management, and GlobalProtect VPN solutions for enforcing network control and monitoring.
- Conduct network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and vulnerability assessments to proactively mitigate risks and enhance network resilience.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to integrate network solutions that support enterprise goals and compliance requirements.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning by designing fault-tolerant network architectures.
- Document architecture designs, network diagrams, and operational procedures to maintain clarity and knowledge sharing across technical teams.
- Stay current with emerging cloud networking technologies and evaluate their integration potential to advance OmarNova’s network capabilities.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to network engineers and other IT professionals to elevate team performance and skills.
