Plant Operator

Description

Polymer Chemical Industries is seeking a skilled Plant Operator specializing in water-based adhesive manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring equipment to ensure efficient and safe production processes. This role requires expertise in process control, equipment operation, quality assurance, and chemical handling. The Plant Operator closely follows batch formulas, production procedures, and safety standards to maintain product quality and workplace safety. Working within a team of one person, the candidate will also coordinate with quality control and maintenance departments to optimize operations. The ideal candidate has a technical or diploma qualification and at least five years of relevant experience in adhesives, chemicals, paints, resins, or similar manufacturing environments. Proven knowledge of mixing and processing equipment, industrial safety, and chemical handling is essential. The role involves shift work and requires a responsible and hardworking individual committed to maintaining high production and safety standards while accurately recording production data.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water-based adhesive manufacturing equipment ensuring smooth and efficient production.
• Follow detailed batch formulas and production procedures to meet quality and safety requirements.
• Control and monitor key process parameters including mixing, temperature, pH, and viscosity.
• Accurately handle, measure, and add raw materials to maintain product formulation consistency.
• Continuously monitor product quality and promptly report any process abnormalities for corrective action.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Complete accurate production and batch records for compliance and traceability.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with quality control and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues.
• Perform routine troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment or process problems promptly.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and supplies to support uninterrupted production.
• Ensure compliance with chemical handling procedures and maintain awareness of health and safety standards.
• Work effectively in shift rotations while maintaining focus and productivity.
