Description
Prime Broadband is seeking a skilled System Support Engineer / NOC professional to join our dynamic team and support our network and system operations.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, and candidates with 2+ years of experience working with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) will be preferred.
The successful candidate will work closely with our existing NOC and System Support team, collaborating with other team members to ensure the stability, availability, and optimal performance of network infrastructure through proactive monitoring and prompt troubleshooting.
The role requires a hands-on professional with strong knowledge of network diagnostics, Linux/Unix system troubleshooting, VLAN configuration, Ethernet switching, and network monitoring. The candidate should be proficient in identifying and resolving network faults and using diagnostic tools such as Ping and Traceroute.
The candidate should also have strong communication, coordination, and teamwork skills to work effectively with existing team members, handle assigned technical tasks, and ensure timely resolution of network and system issues.
Preferred Experience: Candidates with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in an ISP/NOC environment will be given preference.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of five system support engineers to ensure efficient network operations and incident resolution.
- Monitor network performance continuously using advanced network monitoring tools to detect and address issues proactively.
- Troubleshoot complex network and Linux/Unix system problems to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Perform network diagnostics including the use of Ping and Traceroute to isolate faults and verify network connectivity.
- Configure and maintain Layer 2 network components, including VLANs and Ethernet switches to optimize network traffic flow.
- Implement and maintain Cisco IOS configurations to support network routing and switching requirements.
- Develop and update troubleshooting procedures and documentation to maintain a high standard of operations.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and external vendors to coordinate network maintenance and upgrades.
- Train and mentor junior team members to enhance their technical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and Prime Broadband’s policies regarding network security and data privacy.
