Description
The successful candidate will oversee the detailed measurement and valuation of construction work, ensuring adherence to contractual documents and project specifications. Responsibilities include conducting thorough quantity takeoffs, supporting cost control processes, and validating contractor payments to safeguard project financial integrity. The Quantity Surveyor will analyze costs related to materials, labor, and time, and provide strategic advice to minimize risks and optimize resource allocation. Experience with industrial structural projects ensures the ability to understand complex construction processes and financial implications. The role requires a disciplined approach to verify contractor submissions accurately and collaborate with procurement and project management teams to maintain project budgets. Having a solid foundation in construction industry best practices and regulatory compliance is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimations and detailed quantity takeoffs for industrial structure projects.
- Verify Contractors’ Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) to ensure compliance with contract terms and project progress.
- Monitor project expenditures and track costs to maintain budget control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to support cost-effective decision making and optimize resource use.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments related to project costs and scheduling.
- Review and analyze contractual documents to identify financial and operational implications.
- Maintain detailed records of all quantities, costs, and variations to support transparent reporting and audit requirements.
- Provide recommendations on cost-saving measures and process improvements in construction budgeting and procurement.
- Support dispute resolution related to valuation and payment matters, ensuring claims are substantiated and fair.
- Stay updated with industry trends, construction methods, and legal regulations related to quantity surveying and cost management.
