SheenJ Builders is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance department. The Accountant will manage all financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with tax regulations. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience and involves oversight of a team of five professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient financial operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong skills in financial reporting, general ledger management, and tax preparation. The Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and coordinating audits while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity. This position plays a critical role in supporting the company’s financial strategy and ensuring that all accounting activities adhere to regulatory standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Oversee tax preparation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain smooth cash flow.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Lead and supervise a team of five accounting professionals, providing training and performance feedback.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement to support decision making.
• Monitor budgeting processes and assist in financial forecasting and planning.
• Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and financial health.
