Mechanical Engineer

Description

Acme Mills is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in textile manufacturing or mill operations. The ideal candidate holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering and demonstrates a strong practical understanding of mechanical machinery, equipment, and maintenance systems. This role demands expertise in managing both preventive and breakdown maintenance to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the mill. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for reviewing technical records, machine history, and maintenance documentation to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Strong inspection, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are essential to maintain the highest standards of machinery functionality. The position requires physical inspection of equipment throughout the mill, and candidates must be comfortable navigating the manufacturing environment. Good reporting and documentation skills are critical to support maintenance activities and provide accurate updates on machine conditions and maintenance efforts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of mechanical machinery and equipment across the mill to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
• Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and mechanical failures by diagnosing problems and performing repairs to restore operations.
• Review and analyze technical records, machine history, and maintenance logs to monitor equipment health and plan maintenance activities effectively.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance tasks without disrupting manufacturing operations.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
• Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend improvements in equipment performance and reliability.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Stay updated on the latest mechanical engineering technologies and best practices applicable to textile manufacturing and other relevant industrial processes.
• Advise management on necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades to optimize mill operations and machinery efficiency.
