Description
The Project Engineer / Project Manager will be responsible for comprehensive project management activities from inception to completion. This includes detailed cost estimation, contract administration, schedule management, and quality assurance to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle. The role also emphasizes the importance of health and safety compliance and the application of modern construction management tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM). The individual must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills to manage site operations, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and maintain detailed project documentation. Exceptional planning and risk assessment capabilities are essential for anticipating challenges and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee civil construction projects to ensure completion within established timelines and budgets.
- Lead a team of 10 construction and engineering professionals, providing direction, support, and performance management.
- Develop detailed project schedules using project management software and ensure milestones are met.
- Conduct thorough cost estimation and budget management to optimize resource utilization and control expenditures.
- Manage contract administration activities including negotiation, compliance monitoring, and documentation.
- Implement risk management practices by conducting risk assessments and hazard identification to mitigate project risks.
- Ensure quality assurance protocols are established and maintained to meet company and industry standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Oversee health and safety compliance on-site, promoting safe working conditions and adherence to legal requirements.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to enhance project visualization, coordination, and documentation.
- Monitor construction progress and prepare regular reports to keep all parties informed of status, challenges, and solutions.
- Facilitate resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity across project stages.
- Lead site management activities including inspection, problem resolution, and enforcing site-specific procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including plans, reports, permits, and correspondence.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing best practices.
