Afghanistan Open University is seeking a dedicated English Language Teacher to join their team. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in English Language or English Literature and possess strong English communication and teaching skills. This role requires the ability to deliver instruction both in-person and online, ensuring students develop their language proficiency effectively. The candidate should have a deep understanding of the English language and demonstrate expertise in English Language Teaching (ELT) and Communicative Teaching Methodology. Prior teaching experience is preferred, and knowledge of Pashto will be considered an added advantage. The position is open to Pakistani nationals who are passionate about education and skilled at adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs.

Responsibilities

In this role, the English Language Teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language lessons following the communicative teaching approach to foster practical language skills. The teacher will evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to help learners improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities. Additionally, the teacher will create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.

The teacher must also be capable of utilizing online teaching platforms to conduct classes, adapting materials and teaching styles for virtual instruction. Collaborating with the administration to develop curriculum resources and contribute to ongoing program improvements is part of the role. The position demands maintaining up-to-date knowledge of language teaching methodologies and incorporating innovative instructional techniques. The English Language Teacher should also be sensitive to the cultural backgrounds of the students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to maximize learning outcomes.
