The Manager - Treasury at Aisha Steel Mill Limited Karachi, Pakistan, is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing a diverse range of treasury functions to ensure optimal liquidity, risk mitigation, and financial stability. With at least 15 years of experience, the incumbent will oversee a team of five professionals, providing strategic direction in cash management, liquidity planning, debt management, and treasury operations. This position demands a strong command over financial risk management and requires building solid relationships with banks, regulators, and other key stakeholders to support the firm’s financial objectives. The role encompasses end-to-end treasury management including arranging working capital and long-term financing, handling trade finance operations like letters of credit and bank guarantees, and monitoring cash flow and foreign exchange exposure. Additionally, the Manager - Treasury will be responsible for maintaining compliance with financing agreements and regulatory requirements, preparing treasury-related reports, and leading forecasting and budgeting activities. This leadership position requires proactive oversight of asset valuation, security monitoring, and the execution of subsidized financing schemes to align with organizational objectives and optimize working capital efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Arrange and manage working capital facilities and long-term financial instruments to support business needs.
- Oversee subsidized financing schemes such as ERF, EFS, FE-25, and LTFF, ensuring compliance and effective utilization.
- Supervise trade finance operations including letters of credit (LCs), import and export remittances, and issuance of bank guarantees.
- Monitor daily cash flow, foreign exchange exposures, interest rates, and develop hedging strategies to minimize financial risks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial regulators, credit rating agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to secure favorable financing terms.
- Structure, negotiate, and implement financing solutions aligned with the company’s strategic financial goals.
- Manage asset valuation processes, insurance coverage for assets, and short-term investment activities to optimize returns and safeguard capital.
- Supervise the creation and monitoring of security instruments against borrowings to ensure full coverage and risk mitigation.
- Lead treasury operations including import and export finance activities to facilitate smooth international trade and currency management.
- Ensure strict compliance with financing agreements, internal treasury policies, and local regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed treasury reports, comprehensive cash flow forecasts, and insightful management presentations to aid decision making.
- Coordinate the forecasting and budgeting tasks related to treasury to support effective financial planning and working capital optimization.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and development to a team of five treasury professionals to enhance team performance and achieve departmental goals.
- Implement and oversee treasury management systems to improve operational efficiency and accuracy in treasury functions.
- Evaluate liquidity risk and implement strategies to manage liquidity effectively, ensuring adequate funding to meet the company’s obligations.
