Description
This position is ideal for candidates with a background in district cooling, data center mechanical systems, HVAC system design, and thermal energy storage systems who are comfortable working within BIM coordination frameworks and governance. The coordinator will uphold BIM standards, manage clash detection and resolution processes, and ensure compliance with QA/QC governance. The role involves setting up and maintaining Common Data Environment (CDE) folder structures aligned with project requirements and engineering information requirements (EIR). Excellent command of English communication is essential to liaise with internal and external partners and facilitate smooth information management throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing project delivery through effective BIM workflows and collaboration without direct team management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate detailed mechanical engineering BIM models using Revit MEP and Navisworks software tools.
- Implement and enforce BIM principles including Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR), BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Asset Information Requirements (AIR), naming conventions, and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
- Execute clash detection and lead clash resolution processes to ensure constructability and integration across multidisciplinary models.
- Manage and organize CDE folder structures to support clear and efficient data management and accessibility throughout project phases.
- Apply ISO 19650 standards rigorously to govern project information management and support quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) processes.
- Utilize Dynamo and pyRevit scripting capabilities to automate repetitive tasks, enhance modeling efficiency, and improve data accuracy.
- Track and resolve BIM issues systematically, recording updates and follow-ups using issue tracking tools to maintain accountability and transparency.
- Maintain detailed documentation to support compliance with QA protocols and project requirements related to BIM coordination and mechanical system design.
- Collaborate effectively with project engineers, consultants, and contractors to facilitate timely exchange of information and resolve BIM-related queries.
- Ensure mechanical BIM deliverables align with mechanical system designs, including district cooling, data center systems, HVAC, and thermal energy storage solutions.
- Support continuous improvement of BIM workflows by evaluating current practices, recommending enhancements, and implementing industry best practices.
- Assist in training and sharing BIM knowledge with project team members where required to promote BIM standards and methodologies.
