Description

Al Ghurair Group is seeking a skilled BIM Coordinator – Power to join our team. This role focuses on managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling processes specifically for power-related projects. The ideal candidate brings at least six years of experience in BIM coordination and possesses strong technical expertise in software and standards relevant to power infrastructure. The BIM Coordinator ensures the seamless integration of various disciplines into a federated model, emphasizes clash detection and resolution, and maintains compliance with industry specifications including DEWA EIR and ISO 19650. Though this position does not involve managing a team, the coordinator plays a critical role in supporting collaboration among project stakeholders and facilitating effective communication. The BIM Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the entire BIM lifecycle, including data management, clash coordination, and reporting tasks. Proficiency in tools such as Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and Dynamo, combined with a solid understanding of project-specific documentation like BEP and MIDP/TIDP, is essential. The candidate must be fluent in English communication to efficiently coordinate with internal teams and external consultants ensuring project success and adherence to DEWA standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development and maintenance of federated BIM models for power infrastructure projects, ensuring integration of all disciplines.
• Conduct comprehensive clash detection and clash management using Navisworks and other BIM tools, resolving conflicts in collaboration with design teams.
• Prepare and submit DEWA-specific clash reports, ensuring compliance with DEWA clash reporting requirements and timelines.
• Manage COBie data and ensure accurate data exchange in line with ISO 19650 standards and project Information Requirements (DEWA EIR).
• Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Model Information Delivery Plans (MIDP), and Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP) throughout project phases.
• Utilize advanced tools such as Dynamo for automation, Synchro for construction scheduling integration, Rhino and Dialux for specialized modeling and lighting simulations.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and consultants to support coordinated BIM workflows and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of models and BIM data to maintain high-quality standards and alignment with project requirements.
• Support training and mentoring initiatives by sharing BIM knowledge and best practices within the project team and stakeholders.
• Maintain clear and precise documentation of BIM processes, model updates, and coordination meetings for project records.
• Monitor emerging BIM technologies and methodologies related to power sector projects to continually enhance project delivery.
