Phlebotomist

Description

Al Nasar Lab and Diagnostic Center is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist with at least three years of experience to join our healthcare team. This role involves performing venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures to collect blood samples accurately and safely from patients. The Phlebotomist will work closely with medical personnel to ensure proper sample labeling, handling, and processing according to laboratory protocols. The position requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively and compassionately with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns. The successful candidate will manage a small team of two persons, overseeing daily operations related to blood collection. This includes training and guiding team members to maintain high standards in blood collection techniques, safety protocols, and patient care. The Phlebotomist will also contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting the laboratory's overall efficiency and patient service quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection accurately and efficiently following established protocols.
• Prepare patients for blood collection by explaining procedures and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of blood samples to the laboratory to maintain specimen integrity.
• Manage and supervise a team of two blood collection staff, providing training, support, and performance feedback.
• Maintain compliance with all safety and infection control policies while conducting blood collection procedures.
• Coordinate with laboratory personnel to manage workflow and prioritize blood collection according to clinical needs.
• Document patient information and collection details accurately in laboratory information systems and records.
• Monitor inventory of blood collection supplies and order replenishments as needed to avoid shortages.
• Maintain clean and sanitized work areas and equipment to promote a safe and hygienic environment.
• Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on phlebotomy best practices and laboratory regulations.
