Description
1. Midwifery diploma from an accredited nursing and midwifery school.
2. A valid, active registration with the Pakistan Nursing Council.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital, maternity ward, or neonatal unit.
4. Clinical skills: Maternal and child healthcare, delivery/obstetrical care, and universal hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive prenatal care including health assessments, risk identification, and education on nutrition and pregnancy.
- Assist and support women during labor and delivery, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the birthing process.
- Monitor vital signs and progress of labor, recognizing any abnormalities and escalating care when necessary.
- Perform routine postpartum checks and provide guidance on recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records compliant with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families on pregnancy, childbirth preparation, and newborn care strategies.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care plans effectively.
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and hospital protocols during all procedures.
