Description

Alpha Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience and possesses a strong foundation in financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliation. This role focuses on accurate preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting month-end close processes. The candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and be skilled in creating and managing spreadsheets related to expenses and financial data. The position does not involve managing a team but requires close collaboration with other departments to ensure financial operations run smoothly. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records, preparing journal entries, and supporting periodic financial analyses. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to identify discrepancies and reconcile accounts effectively. Candidates must be comfortable using spreadsheet-based financial modeling tools and handling multiple accounting tasks in a timely manner. This role contributes directly to the company's financial accuracy and transparency, helping Alpha Homes make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified.
• Perform account reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies between ledger balances and supporting documentation.
• Lead the month-end close activities by preparing and posting journal entries promptly and accurately.
• Develop, maintain, and update spreadsheets for financial data, particularly related to expenses and budget tracking.
• Use Microsoft Excel extensively to analyze, consolidate, and present financial data effectively.
• Support the preparation of spreadsheet-based financial models to assist in forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to financial accounting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support operational decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices for record keeping and reporting.
