Accountant

Description

AP Traders is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with at least 2 years of experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of financial accounting, including reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and order-to-cash processes. This role involves working closely with accounting software and ERP systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. The Accountant will lead and supervise a team of 4 individuals, coordinating daily accounting activities and supporting the financial health of the company. The Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial reports, monitoring cash flow, and maintaining accurate records. The individual must possess a solid grip on Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create detailed reports and presentations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and order-to-cash cycles.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
• Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to maintain and update financial records.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of a team of 4 accounting personnel, providing guidance and support to improve team performance.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in accounts.
• Monitor cash flow to ensure availability of funds for operational needs.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain documentation for accounting procedures and controls.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare presentations and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to communicate financial information effectively.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and facilitate audit processes when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and increase efficiency within the accounting team.
