Description
Arms Engineering is seeking a responsible and technically competent CCTV Operator to ensure continuous surveillance operations by monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization's CCTV and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate plays a critical role in the security framework by operating CCTV systems, promptly identifying and resolving technical faults, and performing preventive as well as corrective maintenance on the entire CCTV network. This role demands vigilance, strong technical knowledge of IP-based CCTV systems, and the ability to work effectively in shifts to maintain uninterrupted monitoring. The CCTV Operator monitors live surveillance feeds from multiple locations, operates digital video recorders and network video recorders, and ensures all cameras capture and transmit footage accurately and securely. By coordinating with maintenance and IT teams, the candidate facilitates technical repairs and updates, maintains records of system status and faults, and guarantees the proper storage and accessibility of CCTV recordings. Although this position does not require team management responsibilities, it requires self-driven initiative, excellent communication abilities, and comprehensive understanding of networking and surveillance technologies.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor all CCTV cameras and surveillance systems to ensure full security coverage and immediate detection of anomalies.
- Operate CCTV control stations, DVR/NVR devices, and video management software to manage surveillance footage efficiently.
- Detect and report any camera failures, network interruptions, recording issues, or system malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CCTV cameras, recording devices, monitors, network switches, and related hardware.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to CCTV equipment, IP addressing, network cabling, PoE switches, and connectivity problems to restore full functionality.
- Maintain constant CCTV network connectivity ensuring that all components are properly linked, configured, and operating optimally.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of new CCTV cameras and network infrastructure components as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, equipment faults, repairs, replacements, and system performance reports.
- Securely store recorded footage and provide access to authorized personnel following company policies and confidentiality standards.
- Coordinate with external service providers and internal IT teams for major technical repairs and upgrades to the CCTV network.
- Prepare detailed reports reflecting the status of the CCTV surveillance system, including faults, maintenance, system uptime, and any security incidents.
- Comply with company security policies, operational procedures, and health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Work flexibly in shifts, including night hours, to guarantee uninterrupted surveillance coverage across all designated areas.
