Description
ASTO Life Sciences seeks an Associate Manager Supply Chain to oversee the end-to-end import process and ensure seamless supply chain operations related to imported goods. This role involves coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to optimize import activities while strictly adhering to customs regulations and international trade laws. The Associate Manager Supply Chain ensures accurate classification of goods, maintains compliance with import and export documentation requirements, and monitors inventory control related to imported stock. With a focus on continual improvement, this position supports organizational objectives by minimizing delays and avoiding penalties through effective supply chain management practices. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience in supply chain or logistics roles, demonstrating strong expertise in inventory management, demand planning, and import compliance processes. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to maintain transparency and timely communication of import schedules and documentation. Although this position does not involve managing a team, the Associate Manager Supply Chain acts as a critical liaison driving process efficiencies, regulatory adherence, and cost-effective supply chain solutions within ASTO Life Sciences.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute the complete import process ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and import/export documentation standards.
- Manage customs compliance by accurately classifying goods using Harmonized System (HS) codes and applying relevant international trade laws.
- Collaborate closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to streamline import activities and resolve any operational challenges.
- Monitor and control inventory levels of imported goods to ensure accuracy, reduce stock discrepancies, and improve supply reliability.
- Implement supply chain management best practices to maintain consistent flow of imported materials, minimizing delays and customs-related penalties.
- Prepare, review, and verify all required import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and international trade policies to continuously maintain compliance and support regulatory updates.
- Analyze import activities and generate reports that identify opportunities for operational improvements and reduction of import costs.
- Communicate effectively with procurement, warehouse, and finance departments regarding import schedules, documentation status, and compliance issues.
- Support audits and compliance reviews by organizing and maintaining detailed records of import transactions and related documentation.
