Description
Awaan Designs is seeking an Energy Modeler with at least one year of experience to join our team and support sustainable building initiatives. This role requires a strong technical background in HVAC systems, thermodynamics, and energy efficiency assessments. The successful candidate will work closely with architectural and mechanical construction documents to analyze and simulate building performance. You will be responsible for modeling energy consumption, conducting heating and cooling load calculations, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards such as ASHRAE and LEED certification guidelines. This position involves managing a small team of one and requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills to deliver thorough and accurate energy performance reports. The Energy Modeler plays a critical role in integrating renewable energy solutions and sustainability modeling into building designs. You will utilize specialized energy simulation software and code-compliance tools to optimize HVAC system design and improve energy efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to meeting regulatory requirements and advancing Awaan Designs' commitment to environmentally responsible building practices. The candidate must be eager to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving energy codes, and collaborate effectively across disciplines to ensure the highest standards of building energy performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed energy modeling and simulation to evaluate building performance and energy consumption patterns.
- Analyze HVAC systems, perform heating and cooling load calculations, and assess system efficiency using engineering principles.
- Interpret and review architectural and mechanical construction documents to inform simulation inputs and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with energy codes, standards such as ASHRAE, and certification processes including LEED.
- Develop detailed reports and documentation outlining energy efficiency assessments, simulation results, and recommended improvements.
- Integrate renewable energy systems into building energy models to support sustainability goals and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize specialized building-energy simulation software and energy code-compliance workflows to optimize designs.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to provide technical guidance on energy-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of modeling activities, calculations, assumptions, and results to support project transparency.
- Manage and guide a junior team member, providing training, feedback, and assistance in project tasks as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, innovative technologies, and updates in energy codes, standards, and best practices.
