Aziz Fatimah Medical & Dental College (AFMDC) is seeking a skilled CCTV Technician with at least 1 year of experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining video surveillance systems. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or certificate in IT, Electronics, Electrical, or a related field and possesses practical knowledge of network configuration and CCTV technologies. This role requires hands-on expertise in working with IP cameras, DVR/NVR systems, and setting up remote access to ensure continuous monitoring and security compliance across the campus facilities. The technician will operate independently without team management responsibilities, focusing on precise and timely resolution of technical issues to maintain a robust surveillance infrastructure. The CCTV Technician plays a crucial role in safeguarding the premises by ensuring all video surveillance equipment is optimally installed and functioning. The position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing routine maintenance, and upgrading systems to support advanced security features. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of IP camera networking and LAN environments, enable smooth video data recording with DVR systems, and provide end-user support related to remote camera access. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a technical service capacity within an education and healthcare institution are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV cameras including IP cameras and analog models across various campus locations.
- Set up and manage Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and Network Video Recorder (NVR) systems ensuring proper recording and playback functions.
- Perform network configuration related to CCTV systems including IP address assignment, subnetting, and VLAN setup for seamless video transmission.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to video surveillance systems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep CCTV systems operational and compliant with security standards.
- Configure remote access for authorized personnel to view live camera feeds and recorded footage securely from off-site.
- Collaborate with security personnel to assess surveillance coverage needs and recommend appropriate upgrades or system expansions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all CCTV installations, configurations, service requests, and repairs.
- Assist in training end-users and security staff on the proper usage and monitoring of video surveillance equipment.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in CCTV and networking to continually enhance system performance.
