The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in heavy vehicle operation and a strong understanding of safety protocols and vehicle maintenance. This role demands attention to detail, the ability to navigate various routes safely, and compliance with all relevant transportation laws. You will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition, managing schedules for timely deliveries, and ensuring all loads are secured properly. Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy transport vehicles on highways and other roadways following all applicable transportation regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good operating condition.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
- Report any vehicle issues immediately to management to coordinate timely repairs and maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols to protect oneself, cargo, and other road users.
- Stay updated on highway transportation regulations and apply them consistently.
- Coordinate with dispatch for timely assignments and updates on delivery status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
