AI Engineer/Researcher

Description

Biogentx is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer/Data Scientist with expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and large language models to join their innovative team. This role focuses on developing and deploying advanced machine learning and deep learning models, particularly leveraging Python and PyTorch frameworks. The position requires strong hands-on experience with foundation models and large language models, including transformers, and involves building scalable machine learning pipelines for sequence and representation modeling. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for applying cutting-edge ML/DL techniques to biomedical and biological data, although prior experience in biomedical fields is not mandatory. The role is designed for individuals with at least one year of experience in machine learning and deep learning model development who are eager to explore the intersection of advanced AI methods and biomedical data science. While this position does not include managing a team, it offers a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in developing, fine-tuning, and implementing transformer-based models, as well as strong abilities in data preprocessing and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models, with a focus on large language models (LLMs) and foundational models (FMs).
• Implement and maintain machine learning pipelines that support data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and deployment of models.
• Apply advanced representation and sequence modeling techniques to solve complex biomedical and biological data challenges.
• Utilize Python and PyTorch to build scalable and efficient AI solutions tailored to biomedical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify problem statements and translate research objectives into robust ML/DL models.
• Conduct thorough experimentation, hyperparameter tuning, and model validation to ensure accuracy and performance.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and research in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing to incorporate best practices.
• Document code, methodologies, and model architectures to facilitate reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows and standards.
• Engage in the exploration of new biomedical datasets and work towards integrating AI methodologies into biomedical research pipelines.
