R&D Supervisor (Research & Development)

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 8 R&D professionals, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring progress to meet project deadlines.
• Oversee product development processes from research through prototype creation and final production, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer requirements.
• Apply cutting, stitching, embellishment, and garment construction knowledge in the development of textile products, actively supporting practical problem-solving.
• Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems to ensure all products meet regulatory standards and company quality benchmarks.
• Conduct detailed data analysis and interpret research results to drive informed decision-making and product improvements.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality assurance teams to streamline product development and rapidly address technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including product specifications, testing reports, and development records.
• Utilize design thinking methodologies to foster innovation and creative solutions within the team’s projects.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in textile engineering and garment manufacturing to keep the company competitive.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding fabrics, trims, and accessories to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Train and mentor team members, promoting strong technical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Manage multiple concurrent R&D projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and successful completion within budget and time constraints.
• Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to align product development goals with business objectives.
• Review and approve samples and prototypes, providing constructive feedback and ensuring readiness for mass production.
• Report project updates and outcomes to senior management with clear, data-backed insights.
