Bytes Software Solutions is seeking a proficient Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dedicated on-site team in Gujranwala. 

The ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years of solid experience in software testing and quality assurance to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role involves developing and executing detailed test plans, analyzing software requirements, and working closely with development teams to detect and resolve defects. The engineer is responsible for validating backend integrations, performing API and database testing, and maintaining automated test scripts. Adeptness in Agile and Scrum methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines is essential. 

The position is a full-time role designed for an individual passionate about enhancing software quality and contributing to continuous process improvements within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The Senior SQA Engineer at Bytes Software Solutions plays a critical role in defining and enforcing quality standards across software releases. Although this role does not involve managing a team, it requires providing guidance and mentorship to junior QA members to foster their professional growth. The engineer actively participates in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and reviews to ensure seamless coordination and efficient testing cycles. This position demands extensive hands-on experience in manual and automated testing, expertise with testing tools like Jenkins and Postman, and strong skills in SQL for thorough database validations. The role requires meticulous documentation of test cases and the ability to communicate technical insights effectively to cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements, technical documents, and specifications to design effective test strategies.
• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for functional, integration, regression, system, smoke, sanity, exploratory, performance, and security testing.
• Identify, log, track, and verify software defects using bug-tracking tools while ensuring timely resolution by collaborating closely with developers and product teams.
• Design, develop, and support automated testing scripts and frameworks to increase efficiency and coverage of test operations.
• Conduct thorough API testing to validate backend services and system integrations with attention to performance and security parameters.
• Perform rigorous database testing to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and the correctness of SQL queries within the application context.
• Participate actively in requirement review meetings, sprint plannings, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives within Agile/Scrum environments to align quality assurance activities with project objectives.
• Review the test cases and quality assurance activities carried out by junior QA engineers, providing constructive feedback and technical guidance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing tools, processes, standards, methods, and documentation to maintain industry best practices and compliance.
• Prepare detailed quality assurance documentation including test reports, release readiness reports, and testing metrics.
• Ensure software releases meet defined quality standards before deployment by conducting rigorous verification checks and risk assessments.
• Utilize continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins to integrate test procedures within the CI/CD pipeline ensuring seamless and automated testing.
• Maintain awareness of emerging testing trends and technologies to enhance the QA capabilities and quality assurance effectiveness.
