Cannon Construction & Design is seeking a skilled Autocad Draftsman with at least three years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in AutoCAD for both 2D drafting and 3D modeling, with a thorough understanding of architectural and construction drawings. This role involves preparing detailed building permit drawings and collaborating closely with other team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements. The position also includes leading and managing a small team of two draftsmen to deliver high-quality designs efficiently. As an Autocad Draftsman at Cannon Construction & Design, you take responsibility for generating precise technical drawings that support various construction projects. You ensure that all architectural and structural plans meet regulatory standards while maintaining a high level of detail. Your role requires excellent communication skills to liaise with project managers and clients for clarifications and updates. Additionally, you guide and supervise your team to foster productivity and adherence to best drafting practices, helping to meet tight project deadlines without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD based on architectural and engineering concepts.
• Prepare detailed building permit drawings in compliance with local regulations and codes.
• Interpret project specifications and architectural designs to produce precise drafting deliverables.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure clarity and accuracy of technical drawings.
• Manage and oversee a team of two draftsmen, providing guidance and quality control on their work.
• Review and validate drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to project standards.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all draft versions and modifications.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve drafting issues.
• Stay updated on industry standards, drafting techniques, and software advancements.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings to support project schedules.
• Conduct regular quality checks and provide feedback for continuous improvement of drafting processes.
