Description
ClinTech Solutions Pvt Ltd is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join their healthcare team. The Medical Coder is responsible for analyzing clinical records accurately, assigning proper medical codes according to established standards, and maintaining comprehensive electronic health records. This role requires a strong grasp of medical terminology, healthcare regulations, and coding systems such as SNOMED. The coder collaborates closely with clinicians and healthcare staff to ensure patient documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with organizational policies including confidentiality under GDPR and HIPAA. The Medical Coder plays a vital role in supporting quality assurance by engaging in audits and generating reports on coding accuracy. This position demands excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to managing sensitive health information responsibly. The role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient records and health data management within the organization. This position does not involve managing a team but requires effective independent work and coordination with various healthcare stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Review clinical documents and patient records to accurately identify diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate medical codes using established coding systems such as ICD, CPT, and SNOMED.
- Ensure all coding complies with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, and organizational policies.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic health records (EHR) by updating patient information regularly.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify ambiguities in clinical documentation and ensure coding accuracy.
- Implement healthcare compliance standards consistently in all coding activities to support legal and ethical requirements.
- Participate in audit processes to verify the accuracy of coded data and support quality assurance initiatives.
- Generate detailed coding and compliance reports to inform management and support decision-making.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations.
- Handle sensitive patient health information with confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Support organizational objectives by maintaining efficient documentation workflows and ensuring data integrity.
- Assist in training and educating clinical staff on proper documentation practices when required.
- Work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and organizational priorities.
