At Coffee Lounge, we are seeking a POS / Cashier & Order Taker who is experienced in managing fast-paced food service environments. This role demands efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service skills to handle a high volume of student customers placing orders. The ideal candidate brings at least two years of experience, demonstrating the ability to process orders rapidly while maintaining politeness and a proactive approach. This position involves overseeing a team of six personnel, requiring leadership and team coordination to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. The successful candidate efficiently operates point of sale systems, manages cash transactions, verifies orders, and supports inventory management. This role requires multitasking abilities and critical thinking to resolve issues promptly and maintain customer satisfaction. Attention to detail and basic math skills are essential to accurately process payments and maintain order flow, making the candidate a vital contributor to Coffee Lounge’s customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate the point of sale (POS) system swiftly and accurately to process customer orders and payments.
• Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including giving correct change and maintaining balanced cash drawers.
• Welcome customers politely and take orders efficiently, ensuring clarity and accuracy in order processing.
• Verify order details before finalizing transactions to minimize errors and customer complaints.
• Handle a high volume of student customers during peak hours with speed, efficiency, and professionalism.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of six staff members to maintain effective workflow and customer service quality.
• Coordinate with kitchen and inventory staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and adequate stock levels.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints calmly and effectively to provide a positive experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier and order taking area in compliance with company standards.
• Apply basic math skills to calculate totals, discounts, and correct change accurately.
• Adopt proactive communication and problem-solving strategies to manage crowd control and avoid delays.
• Keep accurate records of transactions and prepare daily reports as required.
• Support inventory management by tracking product availability and reporting shortages.
• Demonstrate critical thinking when handling unexpected situations or payment discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, including security procedures for cash and POS use.
