Who We Are:
We operate five jewelry brands across the USA, Canada, and the UK. We are seeking a full-stack website developer to handle all technical aspects of our storefronts, including their ongoing management, development, and performance optimization. Our five brands are:
- Black Carat Jewellers: Specialises in custom engagement rings, lab-grown diamonds, moissanite, and silver. Features a Toronto showroom, an active website selling across North America, and an active Etsy shop. Live on Shopify (Impulse theme); needs speed optimization, catalog cleanup, and debloating.
- Coruscate Jewellers: Everyday UK jewelry brand selling stainless steel, silver, and moissanite on Etsy, eBay, and TikTok Shop. Hosted on Krystal UK using WordPress/WooCommerce and Blocksy Pro; currently in active development.
- Ice Age Jewellers, Noura Jewels, and MIJWL: Three Canadian DTC jewelry brands serving Canada and the US with Etsy and eBay storefronts. All three sites need building. Ice Age will be built first on a clean Shopify OS 2.0 theme to serve as the master framework, then cloned for Noura and MIJWL.

What You Handle
- Writing clean theme code (Shopify Liquid, PHP, vanilla JS) with no visual page builders.
- Speed and server tuning (cPanel, LiteSpeed, Redis, Cloudflare) for fast mobile loads.
- Real-time stock sync via LitCommerce across Shopify/WooCommerce, Etsy, eBay, and TikTok Shop.
- Automated social and search catalog feeds (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Google Shopping).
- Technical SEO, Schema markup, AI search discovery (GEO), and local map profiles (Google, Apple, Bing, Yelp).
- Review systems (Judge.me/CusRev on-site, marketplace review imports, low-rating alerts).
- Chat integration (HighLevel for Black Carat; Tawk.to with a 20s delay for other brands).
- Payment gateways, multi-currency routing, dynamic taxes, and checkout funnels.
- Email deliverability (FluentSMTP on Port 465 SSL, FunnelKit automations for WooCommerce, Klaviyo domain authentication for Shopify).
- Mobile smoke testing, pre-launch QA, and handling all ongoing website updates and management tasks.
Project Roadmap:
We will develop the websites sequentially, starting with Black Carat Jewellers. As new sites launch, you will take over their day-to-day technical maintenance alongside ongoing builds. Urgent live issues or bugs on an active store naturally take immediate priority over new development.
Task 1: Black Carat Jewellers (Shopify Impulse)
- Purge discontinued SKUs via Matrixify; implement 301 redirects.
- Strip app bloat; optimize website and media for 80+ mobile PageSpeed.
- Code Schema JSON-LD; technical SEO, format for AI search (GEO); verify map listings (Google, Apple, Bing, Yelp).
- SEO, GEO & Maps: Natively code Schema JSON-LD and format content for AI discovery. Ensure NAP consistency across Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places, and Yelp.
- Ring Builder: Integrate our existing ring customizer app into the theme with dynamic pricing. Pass custom selections cleanly to checkout and packing slips, while excluding builder SKUs from LitCommerce feeds.
- Showroom Pickup & Shipping: Configure native Click & Collect local pickup for the Toronto showroom and verify all automated carrier shipping rules.
- HighLevel Integration: Build consultation and repair intake pages. Integrate HighLevel appointment booking, native webchat, two-way SMS, and order webhooks for LTV tracking (no Tawk.to).
- Reviews & Social Feeds: Set up Judge.me, import Etsy/eBay reviews, configure low-star alert webhooks, and sync feeds to Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok Shop, and Pinterest.
- Klaviyo Email: Authenticate branded sending domains (DKIM/CNAME) and configure core flows: Welcome, Abandonment, and Win-Back.
- Tracking & Analytics: Deploy GTM with Consent Mode v2, server-side CAPI (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Ads), GA4, Clarity, and StatCounter.
- Payments & Launch: Configure Shopify Payments, local taxes, and LitCommerce sync to Etsy/eBay. Run live test checkouts and launch.
Task 2: Build & Launch of Coruscate Jewellers (WooCommerce UK)
- Server & Cloudflare (Krystal UK): Set up LiteSpeed, PHP 8.3/8.4, Redis caching via Unix socket, 15-minute Linux cron, and JetBackup. Configure Cloudflare SSL, edge cache bypasses for cart/checkout, and webhook/bot whitelisting.
- Hardening & Privacy: Lock down core WP files, enforce 2FA with custom login URLs, configure Complianz cookie banners (Consent Mode v2), and add UK Hallmarking notices.
- Theme & Trust Hooks: Build a custom Blocksy Pro child theme with HPOS and an AJAX cart drawer (no page builders). Add live search, faceted product filters, and trust badges.
- SEO, Feeds & Maps: Set up SiteSEO Pro for Schema microdata and sitemaps. Verify UK map listings (Google, Apple, Bing). Build catalog feeds for Google Shopping, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok Shop, and Pinterest.
- 1-Page Checkout & Email (FunnelKit): Build a 1-page FunnelKit checkout wired to WooPayments with address autocomplete, 20% VAT, and order bumps. Use FunnelKit Automations for receipts and cart recovery flows (no Klaviyo). Connect FluentSMTP on Port 465 SSL with Gmail "Send As" relays.
- Reviews, Chat & Telemetry: Set up Judge.me/CusRev with review imports and low-star alerts. Connect WPGens affiliate tracking, Tawk.to chat (20s delay), GTM, and server-side CAPI.
- Marketplace Sync & Launch: Sync stock to Etsy, eBay, and TikTok Shop via LitCommerce. Run live checkout tests and launch.
Task 3: Build & Launch of Ice Age Jewellers (Shopify OS 2.0 Master)
- Master Theme Build: Select an ultra-fast OS 2.0 theme. Build modular JSON templates via Shopify CLI/GitHub with native cart drawer, sticky add-to-cart, size guides, FAQ accordions, and bundle blocks.
- SEO, Feeds & Maps: Code master Schema JSON-LD, robots rules, and canonicals. Verify map listings (Google, Apple, Bing) and build feeds for Google Shopping, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok Shop, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- Payments & Shipping: Configure Shopify Payments, Shopify Markets (CAD/USD), carrier shipping with tracking sync, and custom packing slips.
- Reviews, Email & Chat: Set up Judge.me, master Klaviyo flows with authenticated domains, Tawk.to chat (20s delay), and full GTM/CAPI tracking.
- Marketplace Sync & Launch: Connect LitCommerce to Etsy/eBay. Run checkout tests and launch.
Task 4: Clones & Launch of Noura Jewels & MIJWL (Shopify OS 2.0)
- Theme Duplication & Branding: Clone the master Ice Age theme repository via Shopify CLI. Apply unique brand assets, typography, color palettes, and CSV catalogs.
- Data Isolation: Keep all backend records separate: customer databases, order feeds, discount scopes, and pixel IDs.
- SEO, Feeds & Maps: Deploy brand-specific Schema microdata, local map profiles (Google, Apple, Bing), and independent feeds across Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- Operations & Email: Configure independent Shopify Payments accounts, Shopify Markets, carrier shipping profiles, dedicated Judge.me accounts, and brand-authenticated Klaviyo flows.
- Tracking & Launch: Deploy dedicated GTM/CAPI tracking and Tawk.to chat (20s delay). Sync LitCommerce feeds to Etsy/eBay, run mobile checkout tests, and launch.
Post-Launch:
CRO, Website Management & Retainer Completing the initial builds is phase one. Once the stores are live, your daily focus shifts to Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), overall website management, and proactive fleet maintenance.
- Full Website Management & Routine Updates: Act as the dedicated webmaster across all 5 stores. You are fully responsible for rolling out new site updates, installing necessary platform/plugin updates, uploading new banners or collection layouts, updating policies, and implementing any new frontend or backend requirements as the business evolves.
- CRO & Funnel Optimization: Review Microsoft Clarity recordings to spot and fix mobile friction, rage clicks, and drop-offs. Test checkout funnels, landing page variants for paid ads, and cart-drawer upsells. Build native volume and bundle discounts via Shopify Functions (zero apps).
- Speed & Performance Monitoring: Keep mobile PageSpeed scores consistently at 80+ across all 5 stores under live ad traffic.
- SEO Crawls & Feed Maintenance: Run bi-weekly Screaming Frog audits to clear 404s and redirect chains. Check Google, Meta, and TikTok feeds regularly to prevent catalog disapprovals or pricing mismatches.
- Sync & Email Health: Check LitCommerce stock buffers weekly to prevent overselling. Monitor FluentSMTP and Klaviyo logs to ensure inbox deliverability and healthy sender reputation.
- Pre-Flight Testing: Test all new promotions, currency rules, and variant options on real mobile devices before pushing them live.
Terms of Engagement:
- This is an independent B2B Contractor Agreement requiring your dedicated full-time capacity (40 hours/week).
- You manage your own hours, provide your own computer hardware and backup power/internet, and handle your own local taxes.
- To ensure our milestones are met smoothly, we ask that you do not take on competing full-time client work during your agreed availability windows.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid templating and Online Store 2.0 sections to deliver engaging user experiences.
- Design and implement WordPress PHP themes and integrate WooCommerce for fully functional online stores tailored to business needs.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, high-quality web interfaces.
- Manage end-to-end website development projects from initial requirements gathering to deployment and post-launch support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting website functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Integrate third-party marketing and analytics tools such as Klaviyo to support customer engagement and retention strategies.
- Optimize website speed, mobile responsiveness, and SEO practices for maximum visibility and sales conversions.
- Stay updated with the latest Shopify and WooCommerce platform developments, updates, and best practices.
- Develop custom features and plugins as required to enhance e-commerce capabilities and meet unique business requirements.
- Conduct rigorous testing to ensure websites function correctly across different browsers and devices.
- Provide technical documentation and training to support website maintenance and future enhancements.
- Work independently and demonstrate effective time management to meet project deadlines without direct team management responsibilities.
