Dawateislami Trust is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join its finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The role requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience and the ability to oversee and guide a team of three accounting professionals. This position is essential in supporting the organization’s financial integrity and providing actionable insights for strategic planning. The Accountant will collaborate closely with other departments to maintain accurate financial documentation and support budgeting processes. Emphasis is placed on precision, reliability, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to various stakeholders. Managing a small team also involves delegation, supervision, and fostering professional development within the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of three accounting staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
• Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities with timely and accurate data.
• Reconcile bank statements and control cash flow to maintain financial stability.
• Support external and internal audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and manage depreciation schedules.
• Monitor and enforce effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate financial information and support organizational initiatives.
• Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
