Description
As a Solar Design Engineer at Dawnshift, you play a vital role in planning and creating efficient solar photovoltaic (PV) systems tailored to meet various energy needs. You will design on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar solutions, leveraging your expertise to optimize energy yield and ensure system reliability. Your work includes developing detailed layouts, performing system sizing, and selecting suitable components to build strong and compliant solar power installations. The role demands proficiency in specialized software and a thorough understanding of electrical design principles, enabling you to prepare accurate technical drawings and simulations. In this position, you will collaborate closely with project managers, installation teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to safety and electrical standards. Although this role does not include managing a team, your responsibility for delivering high-quality, precise designs directly impacts the success of solar projects that contribute to sustainable energy solutions. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will support the advancement of renewable energy initiatives and optimize system performance.
Responsibilities
- Design on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar photovoltaic systems based on project requirements and energy load demands.
- Prepare detailed solar PV layouts and electrical drawings utilizing AutoCAD software to ensure accurate system visualization and planning.
- Perform system sizing calculations, load assessments, and energy yield analyses to optimize system efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and run system simulations and performance reports using tools such as PVsyst and HelioScope to forecast energy production and troubleshoot design issues.
- Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other system components considering system specifications, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and prepare technical specifications that comply with electrical standards and safety regulations.
- Perform DC/AC cable sizing, calculate voltage drops, and select suitable protection devices to ensure system safety and durability.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material lists, and technical proposals for procurement and project planning.
- Review site survey data and conduct project feasibility assessments to inform design decisions and identify potential challenges.
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, installation teams, suppliers, and clients to maintain seamless communication and timely project delivery.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and safety requirements to guarantee compliance and operational safety.
