Euro Africa Travel seeks a Finance Manager for its mining division to oversee all financial aspects, ensuring sound fiscal management and compliance with mining-specific regulations. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of experience in finance roles and manages a team of five professionals. This position demands expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control tailored to the mining industry. The Finance Manager will play a key role in guiding financial strategy, assessing risks, and ensuring adherence to both general finance principles and mining regulatory and taxation requirements. The Finance Manager leads the preparation and analysis of financial statements, manages cash flow, oversees cost accounting systems, and implements effective variance analysis techniques. Collaborative leadership and clear communication within the team and with other departments are essential. This role requires proactive management of compliance with mining regulatory frameworks and taxation laws, enabling Euro Africa Travel to maintain financial integrity and achieve business objectives in a highly specialized sector.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee comprehensive financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with mining industry standards.
• Develop, manage, and monitor budgeting and forecasting processes tailored to mining operations.
• Implement and monitor cost control measures to optimize expenditure and enhance profitability in mining projects.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts to identify and address discrepancies.
• Manage and maintain cost accounting systems specific to mining activities to ensure precise tracking of costs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant mining regulatory frameworks and taxation regulations, staying current with changes affecting the industry.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and operations.
• Lead and mentor a team of five finance professionals, promoting growth and high-performance standards within the department.
• Collaborate with operational and executive teams to align financial strategies with company goals and mining industry demands.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights that support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness to uphold financial integrity.
• Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities as required.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve financial systems and compliance within the mining context.
• Support the company’s financial planning by providing detailed financial forecasts and reporting on key performance indicators.
