Description
Faaz Consulting LLC is seeking a meticulous and skilled GL Accountant to join our team and support a U.S.-based client with general ledger accounting, financial close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position requires an individual with a strong technical accounting background and expertise in managing financial records accurately and efficiently. The role demands attention to detail in preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining fixed asset schedules, handling lease accounting, and performing thorough account analyses to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. The GL Accountant works independently in a remote setup based in Pakistan and does not manage a team. Key responsibilities include supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, preparing audit schedules, and collaborating effectively with finance and business teams to meet deadlines. The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, at least three years of relevant experience, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or CIMA.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and provisions in accordance with accounting policies.
- Review account balances regularly, investigate unusual activity and variances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring clearance of aged reconciling items.
- Maintain detailed and accurate fixed asset records covering acquisitions, disposals, transfers, impairments, depreciation, and amortization.
- Manage lease accounting by maintaining schedules, preparing related journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare payroll accounting entries, reconcile payroll clearing accounts, and validate payroll accruals coordinating with HR and payroll providers.
- Support financial close processes including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Develop and maintain management account schedules and provide robust support for financial reporting and accounting analyses.
- Prepare comprehensive audit schedules, maintain audit-ready documentation, and respond diligently to audit inquiries.
- Adhere to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures while safeguarding confidentiality of financial information.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve or automate accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional finance and business teams to support business objectives and ensure compliance with financial standards.
