Description
Fatima Group is seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer with a strong background in electronic engineering and extensive expertise in the oil and gas, fertilizer, and power plant industries. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering and possesses at least 13 years of hands-on experience. This role involves managing a team of 15 individuals, providing technical leadership and ensuring the proper design, calibration, and maintenance of instrumental systems to optimize plant performance and safety. The Instrument Engineer is responsible for supervising activities related to field instrumentation, calibration, and testing of instruments. The role requires a deep understanding of control loop troubleshooting, programmable logic controllers, and the HART communication protocol. The successful candidate will lead the team in troubleshooting instrumentation systems and maintaining high operational efficiency by applying advanced technical knowledge and practical experience in loop checking and system reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 15 instrumentation professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
- Oversee the installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of field instrumentation and control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to control loop performance and instrumentation system faults.
- Perform loop checking and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control loops to ensure system reliability.
- Implement and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLC) to enhance automation processes within the plant.
- Utilize the HART protocol for communication and configuration of smart field instruments, ensuring accurate data transmission and control.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and optimize system performance.
- Develop and enforce safety standards and operational procedures consistent with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and engineering to improve instrumentation systems.
- Document instrumentation activities, maintain accurate records, and prepare technical reports on system conditions and improvements.
- Stay updated on new instrumentation technologies and industry developments to continually enhance the plant's control systems.
- Support commissioning and startup activities for new instrumentation projects to ensure adherence to technical standards.
