Description
Finance Car Shop Ltd is seeking experienced motor mechanics to join our established UK motor dealership specializing in used vehicle sales and automotive repairs. We require professionals with a strong background in the motor trade, possessing extensive hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, fault diagnosis, and mechanical repairs. Candidates should be capable of working independently and within a workshop team to ensure high-quality service and repairs across various vehicle makes and models. Familiarity with engine repairs, timing systems, clutches, gearboxes, and standard vehicle servicing is essential. This position entails managing and leading a team of 10 skilled mechanics within our workshop, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. The role involves overseeing diagnostic processes, ensuring workshop productivity, and maintaining service standards. Applicants must demonstrate proven expertise in automotive electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and the ability to carry out both mechanical and electrical repairs. Vehicle coding and programming experience is an added advantage but not mandatory. The role is full-time and offers visa sponsorship opportunities for eligible candidates relocating to the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, timing belts, timing chains, clutches, gearboxes, braking, suspension, steering, and cooling systems.
• Use professional diagnostic and vehicle coding equipment to identify and resolve electronic faults including engine management and ABS systems.
• Manage and lead a workshop team of 10, assigning tasks, monitoring work quality, and ensuring adherence to safety and workshop procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and diagnostic results to ensure transparency and traceability.
• Oversee vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance to uphold high standards of reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex faults and share technical knowledge to enhance workshop capability.
• Ensure compliance with UK regulatory and safety requirements within the workshop environment.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics to build a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
• Support the recruitment process by assessing prospective candidates’ technical abilities and experience.
• Liaise with management regarding workshop performance, resource needs, and improvement opportunities.
• Manage workshop inventory, order necessary parts, and ensure availability to minimize downtime.
• Facilitate smooth workflow between the mechanical and electrical divisions of the workshop.
• Participate in continuous professional development to stay updated on automotive industry advancements, technologies, and coding techniques.
