The role does not involve team management but requires strong coordination skills and a dependable approach to handling operating room logistics and patient support. The OT Technician is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization within the operating theater. This role includes managing inventories of surgical supplies, monitoring sterilization processes, and aiding the surgical team effectively to facilitate seamless procedures. The technician supports patients by preparing them for surgery and assisting in their post-operative care, ensuring a smooth transition throughout their treatment at the fertility center. Maintaining clear communication lines with all healthcare team members ensures coordinated efforts towards patient care and procedural success.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical teams during operating theater procedures by providing timely and effective support.
• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies required for each procedure.
• Sterilize and disinfect all surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols to prevent infection.
• Support patients in preparation for surgery and assist with post-operative care as needed to ensure comfort and safety.
• Manage and monitor inventory levels of surgical and operating room supplies to ensure availability and prevent shortages.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, clinical teams, and other hospital departments to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the operating theater environment to uphold strict hygiene standards.
• Document and report any equipment malfunctions or supply irregularities to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Participate in regular training and professional development to stay updated with the latest operating room practices and sterilization techniques.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines in all aspects of work.
