As a Federal Procurement & Sourcing Specialist, you will handle a variety of responsibilities related to federal procurement practices, including navigating government systems like SAM.gov, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and high proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. While you will not be managing a team, the role requires self-motivation, organizational prowess, and the ability to meet strict deadlines independently. Experience with government contracts, DLA processes, NSNs, and federal procurement procedures will be a significant advantage. You will play a critical role in helping Govanta Solutions execute sourcing strategies that best meet the unique needs of federal clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop, prepare, and manage solicitation documents in compliance with federal procurement regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirements.
- Conduct thorough market research and vendor analysis to identify qualified suppliers and assess their capabilities in alignment with federal sourcing strategies.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and bids to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and recommend awards based on quality, cost, and performance criteria.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using contract management software such as PRISM and FPDS to facilitate transparency and audit readiness.
- Manage the vendor lifecycle by conducting performance reviews, monitoring contract compliance, and resolving procurement issues to optimize vendor relationships.
- Coordinate with internal teams and government stakeholders to ensure sourcing activities align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Utilize advanced spreadsheet skills to analyze procurement data, track key performance indicators, and generate reports that support decision-making processes.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies by staying current on federal acquisition regulations and government contracting protocols.
- Engage in negotiations with vendors to secure advantageous terms and maintain cost-effectiveness while meeting federal contract requirements.
- Independently manage tasks to meet deadlines and deliver procurement outcomes that support agency mission objectives.
