SOC Analyst

Description

Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited is seeking a skilled SOC Analyst with at least five years of experience in cybersecurity to join their security operations center team. The ideal candidate focuses on monitoring and analyzing security events to detect, validate, and respond to incidents effectively. This role requires hands-on expertise in incident response, threat hunting, network security monitoring, and utilizing cyber threat intelligence. The SOC Analyst works independently without managing a team but collaborates closely with various stakeholders to maintain the security posture of the organization. The SOC Analyst continuously reviews security logs, processes threat intelligence feeds, and escalates incidents when necessary. The role demands strong technical competencies such as log monitoring, incident handling, and threat hunting capabilities combined with behavioral strengths including excellent interpersonal skills, stress management, and effective time management. This individual effectively communicates threat advisories to ensure that all relevant parties stay informed and aligned on cybersecurity risks and mitigation steps.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security incidents within the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Validate and analyze security alerts to determine their significance and impact, ensuring accurate incident classification.
• Investigate logs and security events thoroughly to understand the nature and scope of incidents, escalating them to appropriate stakeholders as required.
• Receive, review, and process threat intelligence information from multiple trusted sources to stay informed of emerging cyber threats.
• Correlate threat intelligence feeds with existing security events and incidents to provide a comprehensive view of the threat landscape.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date Management Information System (MIS) records related to security incidents and responses.
• Collaborate with other departments to communicate threat advisories and coordinate responses effectively.
• Perform other security-related tasks and projects as assigned to support overall cybersecurity objectives.
