OQC Lab Engineer (Testing & Reliability) – P2

Description

This position involves detailed analysis of test data to identify failures and recurring defects, producing technical reports with corrective recommendations to enhance product reliability. The engineer will also coordinate root cause investigations and support design validation and customer complaint resolution through rigorous testing protocols. Strict adherence to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards, implementation of 5S practices, and ensuring laboratory safety are essential responsibilities. In addition to managing laboratory operations, the engineer will train technicians on testing procedures, equipment handling, and quality standards, ensuring a high-performing, compliant laboratory environment that supports Haier's commitment to manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily laboratory testing activities, ensuring adherence to established standard operating procedures and timely completion of tasks.
• Conduct and oversee various tests including US3030, reliability, safety, performance, endurance, and functional testing of finished washing machines to verify product quality.
• Plan and allocate workloads effectively across a team of five lab technicians, providing guidance and training to ensure accuracy and efficiency in testing operations.
• Analyze test results systematically to identify product failures and recurring defects, preparing detailed technical reports with actionable corrective recommendations.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Research and Development, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and New Product Introduction teams to conduct root cause analyses, product validation, and continuous quality improvements.
• Support testing for validation of design changes, engineering change notifications, integration of new components, and resolution of customer complaints through rigorous laboratory testing.
• Maintain comprehensive laboratory equipment inventory, ensuring all machinery is calibrated according to schedule, health records are up to date, and operational readiness is guaranteed.
• Accurately document all testing records, failure analyses, verification results, and maintain quality management system-controlled documentation to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
• Prepare regular performance reports on laboratory activities, including weekly and monthly summaries highlighting test outcomes, equipment status, and process improvements.
• Train and develop lab technicians on standardized testing procedures, proper equipment handling, quality compliance standards, and laboratory safety protocols.
• Implement and sustain 5S practices within the laboratory to foster an organized, clean, and safe work environment for staff and equipment.
• Ensure full compliance with relevant ISO standards including ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety as part of company policy adherence.
