HiSoftio is seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js to join our dynamic development team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backend services to power our applications. With a minimum of five years of hands-on experience, the ideal candidate must possess proven expertise in backend development using Node.js and Typescript, along with strong knowledge of distributed systems and modern design patterns. This role requires fluency in English and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. The position is well suited for candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality software throughout the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable APIs, manage database designs, and participate in front-end development efforts to ensure seamless integration and responsive design. While management of a team is not required, the candidate is expected to actively contribute technical knowledge and mentorship to peers. Experience in fintech or wealth management sectors, Agile methodologies, and familiarity with project management tools add significant value. The successful candidate will employ testing tools such as Jest and other end-to-end testing frameworks to maintain software reliability, continuously enhance backend systems, and support the company’s mission to deliver innovative software solutions at HiSoftio.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and Typescript, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

• Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs using modern design principles such as event-driven architecture, serverless functions, and CQRS.

• Architect and optimize databases, including relational databases and NoSQL databases like MongoDB; leverage ODM tools for efficient data management.

• Collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate backend services with responsive user interfaces built with modern Typescript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Write comprehensive unit and end-to-end tests using Jest, Cucumber, Cypress, or Playwright to ensure code quality and reliability.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications, performing code reviews and refactoring to maintain clean and efficient codebases.

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve backend architecture and development processes.

• Engage in Agile development methodologies, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to support iterative delivery.

• Assist in project management using tools such as Jira, Asana, or Salesforce, coordinating effectively with stakeholders and product teams.

• Foster knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team, actively participating in developer communities and open-source contributions.

• Apply domain-specific knowledge in fintech or wealth management to create tailored backend solutions that support business requirements.

• Ensure security best practices are implemented to protect data and infrastructure, complying with relevant regulations and standards.

• Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software releases and updates.

• Document technical designs, APIs, and procedures to maintain clear communication across teams and stakeholders.

• Contribute to automation initiatives and explore work orchestration platforms to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
