Internee Mechanical engineer
H&M Enterprises
Published Date: • Faisalabad, Pakistan (On-Site)
Description
H&M Enterprises is seeking an Internee Mechanical engineer to support the design, development, documentation, and improvement of mechanical components and products. This entry-level position is suited to a candidate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and approximately one year of experience or relevant academic and project experience. Fresh candidates are encouraged to apply. The internee works with guidance from experienced engineering staff and contributes to practical engineering tasks while building knowledge of design methods, manufacturing processes, quality practices, and workplace procedures. The role provides an opportunity to apply classroom learning to real engineering work, strengthen technical skills, and develop a reliable approach to solving design and production challenges. The successful candidate follows instructions carefully, asks clear questions when details are uncertain, records work accurately, and completes assigned tasks by agreed deadlines.
The internee creates and updates three-dimensional models and engineering drawings, reviews design information, and helps prepare components for manufacture and inspection. The role requires careful use of SolidWorks, sound understanding of mechanical design principles, and attention to dimensions, materials, fits, tolerances, and drawing requirements. The internee helps compare design options, identify potential production or quality issues, and communicate findings to the appropriate team members. This position does not manage a team or hold supervisory responsibilities. Instead, it focuses on individual technical contributions, learning from feedback, and supporting coordinated engineering work. H&M Enterprises encourages applications from fresh candidates who can demonstrate a solid engineering foundation, a willingness to learn, and an interest in contributing to accurate, safe, and practical mechanical solutions.
Responsibilities
• Support mechanical engineers with the design and development of components, assemblies, and products, following project instructions and established engineering procedures.
• Create, revise, and maintain three-dimensional mechanical models in SolidWorks, ensuring that geometry, dimensions, and assembly relationships reflect the latest design information.
• Prepare clear engineering drawings from approved models, including appropriate views, dimensions, tolerances, material information, and other details needed for manufacture or inspection.
• Check drawings and models for completeness, consistency, and basic errors before submitting them for review, and update documents in response to engineering feedback.
• Help translate design requirements, sketches, measurements, and written instructions into practical models and drawings.
• Apply mechanical design principles when assisting with component selection, part layout, assembly design, and basic evaluation of design alternatives.
• Review proposed designs for fit, function, accessibility, ease of assembly, and suitability for the intended manufacturing process.
• Assist with selecting appropriate materials and production methods by gathering technical information and discussing options with experienced engineering staff.
• Learn and apply common manufacturing processes relevant to the company’s work, and consider process limitations when preparing designs and drawings.
• Support the preparation of prototypes, sample parts, and test assemblies by organizing design information and helping document changes or observations.
• Compare physical components, samples, and prototypes with their drawings or specifications, and report visible differences, fit concerns, or other issues to the appropriate person.
• Assist with basic engineering calculations and measurements under supervision, check units and assumptions, and record results in an organized format.
• Help identify dimensions, tolerances, and interfaces that may affect component fit, assembly, operation, or inspection.
• Support quality control activities by reviewing available product or process information, helping check parts against defined requirements, and recording inspection results accurately.
• Report nonconforming parts, drawing conflicts, missing information, and potential design or manufacturing concerns promptly, without making unapproved changes.
• Help investigate recurring production or quality issues by gathering relevant measurements, drawings, observations, and records for review by the engineering team.
• Maintain orderly technical files, including models, drawings, revision details, calculation notes, and supporting documents, in accordance with company procedures.
• Follow document control practices so that current drawings and approved design information are used for engineering and manufacturing tasks.
• Communicate progress, questions, design updates, and identified risks clearly to the people responsible for the assigned work.
• Take part in design reviews, production discussions, and technical meetings as requested, prepare relevant materials, and record assigned follow-up actions.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to obtain accurate measurements, clarify manufacturing needs, and understand feedback on parts or designs.
• Apply feedback from reviewers to improve the accuracy, clarity, and manufacturability of models and drawings.
• Follow workplace safety rules and use appropriate care when handling tools, samples, equipment, and engineering materials.
• Keep work areas, technical records, and project files organized, and handle company information responsibly.
• Complete assigned work within agreed timelines, notify the supervisor when a task may be delayed, and confirm priorities when multiple requests compete.
• Build practical knowledge of company products, technical standards, design practices, manufacturing workflows, and quality requirements through assigned work and instruction.
• Seek clarification when requirements, dimensions, drawing notes, or instructions are unclear, and verify important details before releasing work for review.
• Review completed tasks for accuracy before submission and take responsibility for correcting mistakes identified during review.
• Support continuous improvement by sharing factual observations about design clarity, manufacturing difficulties, quality concerns, or documentation gaps.
• Maintain a learning-focused approach, accept constructive feedback, and use it to strengthen technical capability and professional work habits.
• Perform other relevant mechanical engineering support tasks that match the position’s entry-level scope and are assigned by the supervisor.
• Work as an individual contributor. This position has no team management, hiring, performance review, or supervisory duties.
