Accountant

Description

HOC Floors seeks an experienced Accountant to oversee the company's financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate manages daily cash flow, processes payments, maintains accurate taxation records, and oversees product inventory management. This role demands a thorough understanding of financial principles and regulatory requirements to support the company’s financial health. The Accountant leads a team of 10 personnel, guiding them in performing account reconciliations, audit preparations, and internal control improvements. The position requires a minimum of five years of experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in tax preparation and compliance to maintain accurate and reliable financial data.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash flow and ensure timely processing of payments and receipts to maintain liquidity.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records and ensure all transactions are documented properly.
• Coordinate tax preparation activities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Conduct regular audit and internal control assessments to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance.
• Perform thorough bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Lead and supervise a team of 10 accounting professionals, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
• Manage product inventory records, ensuring proper tracking of stock and reconciliation with financial data.
• Conduct tax compliance research and prepare regulatory reports, keeping up to date with changes in tax law.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within financial operations to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data and adhere to company policies and ethical standards.
