Description
IM is seeking a skilled Driver with over 5 years of professional driving experience to join our team. This role requires exceptional defensive driving skills to ensure the safe and timely transportation of personnel or goods. The ideal candidate must be reliable, punctual, and possess strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety procedures. In this position, you will be responsible for operating vehicles in various conditions, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and coordinating transportation within the company. This role involves managing a team of 20 drivers, requiring effective leadership and coordination skills. The candidate should be able to oversee scheduling, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide training to promote safe driving practices. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing the efficiency of the transportation team while maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely delivery or transportation.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Coordinate and manage a team of 20 drivers, including scheduling shifts and assignments.
- Provide training and guidance to drivers on defensive driving techniques and safety protocols.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle defects immediately to the management.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, local and state regulations regarding transportation.
- Communicate with dispatchers and logistics teams to report delays or issues promptly.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Assist in developing and implementing transportation safety and efficiency programs.
- Manage and resolve any conflicts or issues within the driving team to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor driver performance and recommend improvements to maintain high safety standards.
