IMA Financial & Tax Consultant is seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant with at least three years of experience to oversee and manage key accounting functions remotely. The ideal candidate is responsible for preparing accurate general ledger entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring timely month-end close processes. This role requires strong knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliation to maintain the integrity of financial data and support the organization’s financial objectives. The candidate will work independently without direct team management responsibilities but must successfully collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations. The General Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial health by performing regular reconciliations and ensuring all accounting records comply with standards and internal controls. The position demands excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple financial processes with accuracy and efficiency in a remote work setting. A solid background in general ledger accounting and invoice management is essential for success in this position, along with adherence to deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record accurate general ledger entries to maintain comprehensive financial records.
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments.
- Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate financial reports that summarize current financial position and past performance for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports to maintain accurate records.
- Support audits and prepare documentation as needed to facilitate internal and external financial reviews.
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary financial information and resolve accounting issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data and uphold ethical standards in all accounting activities.
