Integrated equities limited IEL
Published Date: • Lahore, Pakistan (On-Site)
Description
Integrated Equities Limited (IEL) is looking for a qualified accounting professional to lead its accounts function. Reporting to the AVP Finance, the Manager will run daily financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and voucher review, prepare statutory schedules and returns for SECP, PSX and NCCPL, and own the monthly and annual closings.
The role suits someone who has worked in the accounts function of a PSX-licensed brokerage and knows Liquid Capital, Net Capital Balance and client asset segregation from the inside.
Responsibilities
Accounts leadership and financial reporting
- Lead and supervise the accounts team, including the Senior Executive, Financial Reporting & Compliance.
- Own month-end and year-end closings, and prepare management accounts and half-yearly and annual financial statements under IFRS and the Companies Act, 2017.
Brokerage accounting and settlement
- Oversee daily accounting of trades from the back-office system, NCCPL settlement obligations under the T+1 cycle, exposure and mark-to-market margins, and balances with the clearing house and the exchange.
Client money and custody controls
- Keep client assets segregated as PSX regulations require. Reconcile client bank accounts with back-office client ledgers daily, and reconcile back-office securities positions with CDC sub-accounts regularly.
- Monitor client receivables and ageing. Enforce payment controls so that receipts and payments above the threshold move only through clients' own bank accounts.
Regulatory capital and returns
- Prepare and submit on time the monthly Liquid Capital statement under Schedule III of the Securities Brokers (Licensing and Operations) Regulations, 2016, the Liquid Capital report, the fortnightly Clients' Assets Segregation Statement (CASS), the Net Capital Balance certificate, the monthly FINS return to SECP, and half-yearly and annual financial statements to PSX.
- Monitor Base Minimum Capital and exposure collateral held with PSX and NCCPL.
Taxation
- Manage income tax compliance, including withholding and advance tax, returns and statements, and provincial sales tax on services (PRA/SRB).
- Coordinate capital gains tax matters administered through NCCPL, and work with tax advisors on notices and assessments.
Audit, inspections and internal controls
- Lead statutory audits and half-yearly reviews, auditor-reviewed Liquid Capital and annual CASS certifications, PSX and SECP inspections, and credit rating reviews.
- Maintain maker-checker controls, documented procedures and complete audit trails.
- Keep organised physical and digital records of all transactions, vouchers and compliance filings so the company is ready for audit at any time.
Treasury and MIS
- Manage cash-flow forecasting, including settlement funding, bank relationships and guarantees, and the invoicing and collection of advisory fees.
- Give management timely MIS, budgets and variance analysis.
