IT & Asset Management Officer

Description

The IT Asset Management Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s IT assets, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and security of IT resources. This role involves overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and lifecycle of IT assets, as well as managing the IT department in implementing technology solutions that align with business objectives.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT asset management or a related role. Proven experience in procurement and vendor management.

Skills:

Strong understanding of IT asset management principles and best practices.

Proficient in asset management software and tools.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Asset Management:

• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
• Monitor asset lifecycle from acquisition to disposal, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets.

Procurement:

• Collaborate with vendors to procure IT equipment and software, negotiating contracts and pricing to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency.

Policy Development:

• Develop and implement IT asset management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Create and maintain documentation related to asset management processes.

Support & Training:

• Provide support to staff regarding IT asset usage and troubleshooting.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on asset management best practices and software applications.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with IT support and project teams to ensure that assets meet operational requirements.
• Assist in IT projects, providing insights into asset allocation and usage.

Reporting:

• Generate and present reports on IT asset performance and utilization to management.
• Analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
