Description
The Head of Operations will oversee the farm’s milk production, monitor feed costs and wastage, and ensure overall farm performance meets set standards. In production and processing, the role involves planning, maintaining quality, ensuring food safety, and optimizing operational efficiency. In sales and distribution, the focus is on achieving sales targets, managing distribution channels, overseeing collections, maintaining margins, and driving market growth. The role requires managing key performance indicators, controlling operational costs, supervising manpower, and providing detailed reporting to senior leadership. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage dairy farm operations focusing on milk production, feed cost optimization, and reducing wastage to improve farm efficiency.
- Oversee dairy production and processing activities to ensure high standards of quality, food safety, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement production plans aligned with market demand and company goals.
- Drive sales and distribution efforts to meet and exceed sales targets, expand market reach, and improve collection processes.
- Manage operational key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve overall business performance.
- Control budgets and forecasts to optimize operational costs and maximize profitability.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 50 staff members across multiple functions to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Establish and enforce procedures and policies to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- Monitor supply chain management to ensure timely procurement and distribution of resources.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation plans to protect assets and ensure business continuity.
- Prepare regular reports on operations performance, financial results, and improvement initiatives for senior management review.
- Foster a proactive, hands-on leadership approach focused on problem-solving and delivering tangible results.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, technology adoption, and team capabilities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices to maintain the company's competitive edge.
