M. Shafi and Brothers is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry. This role focuses on managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation, and maintaining the general ledger. The accountant will work closely with other departments to process accounts payable and receivable, and support the overall financial health of the company through diligent record-keeping and reporting. The Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of financial data using ERP systems and performing general ledger reconciliations. This position requires accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple accounting processes efficiently. The candidate will not manage a team but must collaborate effectively with various internal teams to meet deadlines and support business operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate account reconciliation to verify the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded properly and timely.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
• Utilize ERP systems effectively to enter, track, and report financial data.
• Conduct general ledger reconciliations regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Assist in budget preparation and expense tracking specific to the construction industry requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Stay updated on accounting best practices and construction industry-specific financial regulations.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accounting operations and accuracy.
