Odoo Developer

Description

Makkah Pharmacy is seeking a skilled Odoo Developer to take ownership of our Odoo ERP environment and develop seamless integrations with external healthcare and regulatory platforms. This role combines daily support of our Odoo system, including troubleshooting, customization, and module development across multiple locations, with project work focused on building and maintaining web applications and middleware that connect Odoo to government compliance and clinical systems. The ideal candidate has strong Python backend development skills, familiarity with Odoo modules and deployment workflows, and experience working with healthcare data exchange standards. In this role, the Odoo Developer works independently, requiring a strong ability to interpret and implement from technical specifications with minimal supervision. The role involves maintaining server actions, automated workflows, and reporting tools within Odoo, handling complex data migrations, and supporting end users across multiple sites. Additionally, this position requires developing middleware for authentication and communication with external systems using XML and REST protocols conforming to healthcare messaging standards. Although this role does not involve managing a team, it demands effective collaboration and communication skills to support enterprise-wide ERP and integration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in core Odoo modules such as Inventory, Purchase, Sales, Accounting, POS, and CRM to ensure continuous system performance.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Odoo modules using Python to meet the evolving needs of the pharmacy’s operations and multi-location workflows.
• Develop and optimize server actions, automated jobs, scheduled tasks, and QWeb reports to enhance business process automation.
• Manage Odoo deployment processes on Odoo.sh, including staging, production workflows, branch management, and debugging.
• Perform data imports, migrations, and manage workflows across multiple locations to ensure data integrity and system consistency.
• Provide end-user support to various departments and locations, enabling effective use and adoption of the Odoo ERP system.
• Build middleware components that create, send, and process XML and RESTful messages for integration with external healthcare and regulatory systems.
• Implement OAuth2 and OpenID Connect authentication mechanisms to secure communications with third-party API gateways.
• Work with healthcare data exchange standards such as FHIR R4, HL7 v2.x, and pharmaceutical serialization and supply chain messaging standards like EPCIS and GS1 identifiers.
• Develop message queuing, retry logic, status polling, and error handling routines to ensure robust integration workflows.
• Interpret and implement complex technical specifications independently, adapting to new healthcare and pharmaceutical system requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align Odoo ERP functionalities with business needs, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
