About the role
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team and work directly with a California-based AI startup developing innovative AI solutions in the United States.
You will work on improving how the data gets made: processes, tools, and budget behind video and image annotation. You will work under the CEO of Maklix, and in close collaboration with the Head of Product of our client.
What you’ll do
- Understand the unit economics, find where money and time are lost, and drive measurable cost reductions.
- Study how annotation tools and processes are used today and turn findings into concrete improvements.
- Define what annotation tools the team needs, prioritize improvements, and work with engineers to deliver them.
- Formulate hypotheses, set up experiments with clear success metrics, and make sure they are run and evaluated properly together with the data processing team.

Requirements - 3+ years in product management or a similar role, including leading at least two products.
- Proven track record of optimizing operational workflows and reducing costs, backed by numbers.
- Experience managing or working closely with operational teams such as annotation, support, production, or logistics.
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable with spreadsheets and metrics, able to design an experiment and interpret its results.
- Enough technical understanding to work with engineers and ML specialists on equal terms.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Nice to have
- Experience with data annotation/labeling, ML data pipelines or computer vision.
- Experience managing external vendors or outsourced teams.
- Familiarity with annotation platforms (CVAT, Label Studio, Labelbox, Supervisely).
- Basic SQL or experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) to speed up analysis and prototyping.
